This policy explains what personal data Trudist collects through trudist.com, why, and the choices you have. It applies to visitors, customers and partners who use the website, its contact form or its login area.
1. Who we are
Trudist (“Trudist”, “we”, “us”) supplies IT hardware, including workstations, servers, desktop PCs, laptops, monitors, projectors and peripherals. Our registered address is 7 Al Sakhawi Street, Heliopolis, Cairo, Egypt. For this policy, Trudist is the controller of the personal data described below.
Contact for privacy questions: info@trudist.com or +20 11 51001929.
We handle personal data in line with the Egyptian Personal Data Protection Law No. 151 of 2020 and its executive regulations. Where the law of another country applies to you (for example the EU or UK GDPR), Section 7 covers those rights as well.
By using the website you acknowledge this policy. Where the law requires your consent for a specific use, such as non-essential cookies or marketing emails, we ask for it separately and you can withdraw it at any time.
2. Information we collect
We collect only what we need to respond to you, run accounts and operate the site.
Information you give us
- Contact details: name, company, job title, email address and phone number when you use the contact form, email or call us.
- Account details: login credentials and profile information if you register for or sign in to a customer account.
- Business and order details: quotes, orders, delivery addresses, and billing or credit-facility information for trading customers and partners.
- Messages: anything you write in an enquiry or support request, and any files you attach.
Information collected automatically
- Device and usage data: IP address, browser type and version, operating system, pages viewed, referring page, date and time of visit, and approximate location derived from the IP address.
- Cookies and similar technologies: small files that keep the site working and, if you allow them, measure how it is used. See Section 5.
- Search queries you type into the site’s search box.
We do not knowingly collect sensitive personal data (for example health, religion or biometric data) through the website, and we ask that you do not send it to us.
3. How we use your information
We use personal data only for the purposes below, each with its legal basis.
| Purpose | Examples | Basis |
|---|---|---|
| Respond to enquiries | Answer contact-form messages, calls and emails; prepare quotes | Your request; our legitimate interest |
| Provide accounts and orders | Sign-in, order processing, delivery, invoicing, credit facilities | Contract |
| Operate and secure the site | Prevent fraud and abuse, fix errors, keep backups | Legitimate interest |
| Improve the site and services | Analyse which pages are used and how | Consent (analytics cookies) or legitimate interest |
| Send updates and offers | Product news, partner promotions | Consent; you can opt out at any time |
| Meet legal duties | Tax, accounting, responding to authorities | Legal obligation |
We do not sell your personal data. We do not make decisions that significantly affect you by automated means alone.
4. How we share information
We share personal data only where needed and never for others’ own marketing. Recipients are:
- Service providers that work for us under written instructions: website hosting and maintenance, email and communication tools, payment and credit processors, couriers and delivery partners, IT support and accountants.
- Distribution partners and manufacturers, only where needed to fulfil your order, warranty claim or quote request.
- Authorities and advisers when the law requires it, to enforce our terms, or to protect our rights, customers or the public.
- A successor business if Trudist is merged, sold or reorganised; we will tell you if your data is then handled under a different policy.
Every provider that handles personal data for us must protect it and use it only for the task we give it.
5. Cookies and analytics
Cookies are small text files stored on your device. We use these types:
| Type | Purpose | Can you refuse? |
|---|---|---|
| Essential | Keep the site secure, remember your session and login | No; the site needs them |
| Preferences | Remember choices such as language | Yes |
| Analytics | Count visits and show which pages are useful | Yes |
| Marketing | Measure or personalise advertising, if we use any | Yes |
Non-essential cookies are set only after you accept them in the cookie banner. You can change your mind at any time through the banner settings or your browser, which can block or delete cookies. Blocking essential cookies may stop parts of the site from working.
If we use a third-party analytics service such as Google Analytics, it may receive your IP address and usage data and process it on its own servers. [Add the exact tools you use and link to their opt-out pages.]
6. Data retention and security
Retention. We keep personal data only as long as the purpose requires, then delete or anonymise it:
- Enquiries and contact-form messages: up to 24 months after the last contact.
- Customer accounts: while the account is active, then up to 12 months after closure.
- Order, invoice and credit records: for the period required by Egyptian tax and commercial law.
- Analytics data: up to 26 months.
Security. We protect data with access controls, encryption in transit (HTTPS), regular software updates and backups, and staff confidentiality duties. No online system is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
If a breach is likely to put your rights at risk, we will notify the Egyptian Personal Data Protection Center and the people affected within the time the law sets.
7. Your rights and choices
Under Egyptian Law No. 151 of 2020 you have the right to:
- know what personal data we hold about you and get access to it;
- correct inaccurate or incomplete data;
- withdraw consent where we rely on it;
- ask us to erase or restrict the use of your data;
- object to processing, including direct marketing;
- be told of a breach affecting your data.
If you are in the EU or UK, you also have the right to data portability and to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority. If you are a California resident, you may ask what personal information we collect and request its deletion; we do not sell or share it for cross-context advertising.
How to use your rights. Email info@trudist.com with your request and enough detail for us to identify you. We may ask for proof of identity, and we reply within 30 days. You may also complain to the Egyptian Personal Data Protection Center if you think we have mishandled your data.
To stop marketing emails, use the unsubscribe link in any message or write to us.
8. Transfers, children, links, changes and contact
International transfers. Some providers, such as hosting or analytics services, may process data outside Egypt. We transfer personal data abroad only where the law allows it and with appropriate safeguards in place.
Children. The site is for businesses and adults. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 18; if you believe a child has given us data, contact us and we will delete it.
Third-party links. The site may link to partner and other external websites. We do not control them and are not responsible for their privacy practices, so please read their policies.
Changes to this policy. We may update this policy as our services or the law change. The date at the top shows the latest version, and we will post any material change on this page.
